The University of Salerno, located in an area with a rich historical background and gifted with natural beauties, was established in 1968. Nowadays it is one of the largest Universities in Southern Italy. It has two Campuses (Fisciano and Baronissi), 40,000 students, 35 bachelor’s degrees, 36 master's degrees, 7 One cycle Master degrees, 3 Postgraduate schools, 17 Departments and 14 PhD schools. About 1000 Permanent Professors and Researchers and 700 Technical and Administrative staff are employed at university. The high quality of research and teaching, combined with modern facilities, residence halls, cafeterias, sports facilities, large green areas and very efficient services make of the University of Salerno the ideal place to live and study. The international dimension is of utmost importance. To this end it supports mobility actions, participates in international research projects and encourages international cooperation activities with Higher Education Institutions, foreign companies and leading research groups in different scientific areas, thus contributing to the development of the "Knowledge Triangles" (higher education, research and innovation). The University of Salerno is fully aware that its recent graduates have to acquire adequate skills to be competitive in an increasingly globalized world and in a constantly evolving labour market.
